Alcohol can have a particularly important effect on triglycerides and liver health.
Reducing alcohol — and including more alcohol-free days — can therefore be one of the most useful changes for metabolic health.
If alcohol has become connected with stress, relaxation or emotional comfort, simply saying “don’t drink” is rarely enough.
Instead, become curious about the pattern.
Ask yourself:
When do I most want a drink?
What am I feeling beforehand?
What am I hoping the drink will give me?
Could I create another relaxing ritual instead?
Changing the habit gradually and compassionately is often much more sustainable.
