Lesson 6: Calming the Stress Response

The cause of Fibromyalgia is unknown but a breakdown in the pain perception system is thought to be involved.  It is suggested a ‘hyper” response to a real pain stimuli or incorrect hormonal signalling is giving false information to the body.

Why you need to do it:

You will learn how calming the nerves are so important in overall health including better stress response and improved digestion. Finding ways to cope and deal with existing stress is essential for healing the body.

What you need to do:

Fight and flight is one of the natural responses to stress. Also freeze and faint, tend and befriend, are activated the we are in reactive mode. When in “rest and digest” mode the body can best absorb and use the nutrients and learn and grow.  The body needs to be able to react and relax afterwards.
